A solemn celebration of the Day of Levski was held by the Bulgarian Sunday schools in Athens.
On occasion of 147th Anniversary of the national hero Vasil Levski’s peril, Seliminski Center and its belonging Sunday schools in Athens and Crete organized an initiative with the motto: «Vasil Levski – Apostle of the Bulgarian Struggle for Freedom»:
- Organizing interschool competitions in creative writing and arts for the students from the three Sunday schools in Athens on the above-mentioned topic.
- Memorial service for hierodeacon Ignatyi – Vasil Levski in «St.Venerable Ioan Rilski Thaumatourge» Bulgarian Church in Athens.
- Paying tribute to the hero by placing flowers and performing a short program by the students of the three Bulgarian Sunday schools in Athens before the memorial of Levski at the Bulgarian Embassy in Athens.
- On 16th February, Sunday, before the memorial of Vasil Levski, the winners were handed their awards.
All initiatives were organized and performed with the cooperation of the Bulgarian organizations in Athens.
