The Bulgarian community in Athens celebrated the Day of Bulgarian Enlightenment and Culture and Slavic Writing – May 24 with events that were distinguished by their ease, freshness and spontaneity. The celebrations began on May 22, Sunday, with a festive Holy Liturgy celebrated in the church of St. Rev. Ioan Rila Miracle Worker “Bezsrebarnitsi”. Pupils from Bulgarian Sunday schools presented a festive program. Students and teachers from the Bulgarian school “Vasil Levski” with the then name “Paisiy Hilendarski” held their celebration.
